Laughter
Laughter

The sweetest sound to me is a child's laughter. I absolutely adore the sound of my grandson laughing as he watches animals, plays, or we talk. Just precious to me.

I have always been a serious person. Growing up there wasn't laughter in my environment. Even today I look at other people laughing, picking, pranking, and being "silly" with understanding and sometimes longing. Don't get me wrong, I can partake, but I am not one to initiate. Maybe I don't know how, or maybe I'm more reluctant because it doesn't come naturally to me.

My husband loves to pick with me and enjoys making me laugh. He will do or say things and I can't help but chuckle. He knows this and that encourages him even more. One of the things, I love most about him. When we get a rare weekend away with some friends, we laugh the whole time. These are treasures for later.

I accept this. Don't be deceived, for I learned a long time ago that laughter doesn't necessarily mean joy. Joy comes in knowing God and understanding His plan. That I have. Joy comes from knowing we are blessed with God's grace. Psalms 126:2-3 says "Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy."
