I’ll Be There…

People who don’t understand the promise of Heaven, do not understand the comments about being “ready to go home”. It brings tears to my eyes when I think about Heaven and seeing Jesus.
My husband’s dad had a verse that I remember him quoting more than any other verse. John 14:2-3. “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
There is a peace and comfort in knowing I have a home, where I will be, and who is taking care of me. Living life the way I did growing up, nothing was certain. Where we would live, where our food would come from, or who was taking care of me. Absolutely nothing was certain! For a child, there is always comfort in knowing that there is someone who is there and cares enough to take care of us. God does that.
You see, our Father is a loving Father, but make no mistake, He asks but one thing. John 3:16. He asks that we believe in Him. When we do that, He takes care of the rest. Knowing He has prepared a place for me (me) is humbling. Just to think about someone loving me that much that He was crucified, rose from the dead, is preparing a place for me, and will come back to get me is sometimes more than I can comprehend.
Philippians 3:20-21, “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body."
I got on an elevator this morning. The elevator stopped and a couple got on. I said, “Are you going up?” She said, “Yes, I am, but I don’t know if it is today.” I quickly replied. Me too and I’m ready. I love that knowledge. I love that assurance. I have doubted that in the past, but not anymore. I know. I”ll be there.
