Calm Down and Wait…

As I’ve said before, my husband and I love sports. We have come to finally be able to say, “just wait” when our team falls behind. Sports are both minute-by-minute and a sum of a whole. You see, it takes all those minutes adding up to make the whole game thus the outcome. Joshua 1:9, Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Just like a ballgame, life is built by those minutes but it takes a calm understanding to wait and let the whole game of life play out to reach the outcome, Heaven. I didn’t understand this as much when I was younger. I worried about each bad decision and replayed them a thousand times beating myself up over what I feared would be the outcome.
Psalm 27:14 states, “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord!.” We are commanded to wait and take courage that God will guide our life. Wait for His goodness, wait for His plan, and do not fear, but remain calm. He is a good God and His plans are for our good. We may feel like we have fallen behind, but make no mistake, God is the referee and He sees the whole game minute-by-minute. Calm down and wait..spoiler alert. We win!
